Derek's Bio
Derek has had a varied musical upbringing. He sang in St.Andrew's Parish Church choir for many years, both as a treble and later as a bass. He was also a member of Renaissance Voices for a number of years. This was an 8-piece vocal group, specialising in a-capella tudor anthems and madrigals. Great fun and surprisingly hard work too!
Over the years, he has dabbled with various instruments but finally settled on playing bass. He is a regular member of the worship team in St.Matthews and jumped at the chance to spread musical wings outside the church environment.
Derek loves a very wide range of music, from metal, through (traditional) R&B, Ska, Reggae to soul, jazz and the choral stuff too. If it has heart and soul and is played - he'll give it a go!
Outside Cahoots, Derek works in the water industry in IT and lives in Rugby with his wife and two children. He loves sport and anything techie. He also helps out running youth camps for West Runton Holidays.
